Introduction to Segmentify’s Recommendation Algorithms


Segmentify is a platform that has 19 algorithms in 7-page types and offers a personalisation infrastructure with AI technologies to e-commerce sites. 

Alternative Products 

The Alternative Products algorithm aims to increase the engagement of the visitors. The main starting point is a product that is currently being viewed. All previous behaviour data for this product such as views are processed to identify the possible alternative of this product. Options such as category, brand, and price are also available to identify the alternatives with include / exclude filters.

Complementary Products

The Complementary Products Algorithm is based on the category relations as well as the relationships of best-selling products. In this way, especially for customers with low sales volume and basket average, recommendations are healthier and more appropriate. This algorithm increases the functionality of the recommendations and makes them more effective.


Best Use Case: Product Page, Basket Page


Top Sellers

The Top Sellers algorithm shows the top seller products in the store. The aim is to show the most popular products to visitors and direct them to purchase these items.

Segmentify can get the top seller products in three options: Daily, weekly, monthly.

Best Use Case: Home Page, 404 Page, Search Page



Search Page

Spotlights

The Spotlights algorithm shows the most popular products. The most popular products are determined by Segmentify Rock Score. It aims to show the most popular products to visitors and direct them to purchase these items. 

From this algorithm, products can be requested on a daily, weekly, monthly time frame basis.


Best Use Case: Home Page, 404 Page, Search Page


Brand Top Sellers (Brand Products)

The Brand Top Sellers algorithm shows products with the highest rock score for specific brands. For example, it can be used in specific brand pages if the e-commerce store has one. For this reason, the brand information must be fed in integration to Segmentify Engine.

From this algorithm, products can be requested on a daily, weekly, monthly time frame basis.

Discounted Products

The Discounted Products algorithm shows the discounted products. The products, which are purchased or viewed daily, weekly, or monthly, return as a recommendation. The algorithm catches the price drops of all products and recommends them.


Best Use Case: Home Page, 404 Page, Search Page


Category Rocks

The Category Rocks algorithm shows the most popular products in the category that the visitor is viewing at the moment. This algorithm works due to our knowledge of visitor's interested categories and we can show them the related products.


The sorting of the products is being made with the Segmentify Rock Score method which is an AI-based scoring mechanism calculating the most related products in the current category that visitors can engage. 


From this algorithm, products can be requested on a daily, weekly, monthly time frame basis.

Last Visited Product

The Last Visited Product algorithm brings each user’s last visited products. It aims to remind the products that visitors are interested in and convince them to purchase these products.

Home Page

 

Last Purchased Product

The Last Purchased Product algorithm brings each user’s last purchased products. It aims to help customers with speeding the purchase process who buy repetitive products (such as toilet paper, bottled water). Segmentify can also return products that are not in stock as recommended.

Best Use Case: Home Page, Basket Page

Price Drop

The Price Drop algorithm recommends the products viewed by the visitor. The algorithm works very effectively as Segmentify knows every visitor's behavioural data for products.

Segmentify keeps the product displayed and the date displayed here. Accordingly, Segmentify shows it as a recommendation when the price of a product drops.

Product Page


Smart Offers

The Smart Offers algorithm finds the favourite top categories for each user. Top categories are calculated based on a visitor's favourite categories and, if any, the products they last viewed in the current session. 

The algorithm recommends products with the highest rock score to first-time visitors.


Best Use Case: Home Page, 404 Page, Search Page


New Arrivals

This algorithm brings new products to the e-commerce store. Recommendations are made according to the selected timeframe of the products added to the system in the last 30 days according to the daily, weekly, monthly rock score.

Best Use Case: Home Page, Basket Page 



Basket Page

Predefined Products

The Predefined Products algorithm is for e-commerce managers who are willing to promote specific products or variants of products to their visitors. To promote specific products, we can identify products that are labeled with integration. The order of suggestions can be made based on daily, weekly, or monthly rock score values.

Best Use Case: Home Page, Product Page, Basket Page


Label Based Products

The Label Based Products algorithm brings the products of the e-commerce stores labeled based on product season, size, colour, etc., product attributes labeled in XML. It can also be fed label information through integration.

Best Use Case: Home Page 

Browsing Alternatives

The Browsing Alternatives algorithm brings similar products for each product that visitors last viewed. It increases the options for the user by bringing alternatives to the products being looked after.

Promotion Recommendations

Promotion Recommendations allow e-commerce sites to personalise the special offers displayed on e-commerce websites. We need the support of the Segmentify Customer Success team, especially in Promotion campaigns. The promotion has its own special events, with integration within a logical selector, we can get the campaign according to the promotion type selected from the campaign, together with receiving the banners of Segmentify customers. Smart offers show banners according to the user's favourite categories.

For example, if the user's favourite category is women's sneakers, when the user visits the site again, special banners of the women's sneakers category are shown according to the category interest. 


Previously Added to Basket


The “Previously Added to Basket” algorithm is one of the effective basket page algorithms & scenarios. It can be used to recommend products that have already been added to the cart before.

Bundle Products

The Bundle Products algorithm is for recommending bundles of the visited product. It is one of the most effective algorithms that can be used in product pages. 

To be able to use the Bundle Products algorithm, the information of each products’ bundles must be fed into the Segmentify with an XML or CSV feed and bundle option should be activated.
